ESTA is the UK's professional association and learned society for teachers of Earth Sciences. A registered charity formed more than 60 years ago, we exist to ensure quality teaching and learning in the discipline.

We are keen to hear from enthusiastic and talented individuals with experience in an Earth Science discipline who would like to join our team.

Working with ESTA strengthens your CV, gives you the opportunity to collaborate with other experts, helps you develop as a professional and empowers you to drive educational development and Earth Science provision on a national scale.

There are roles for council members and trustees (with expenses paid) as well as occasional self-employed roles. ESTA is committed to equal opportunities, values diversity and welcomes enquiries from everyone.

Field Trip and Event Leaders

ESTA runs field trips and events throughout the year as part of its programme of professional development and member engagement. We are looking for experienced Earth Science educators and practitioners to help plan and lead these activities.

This is a volunteer role and is ideal for those who want to share their passion for Earth Science in the field, connect with teachers and contribute directly to the development of the next generation of Earth Science educators.

Non-executive trustee Council Member

ESTA is governed by a voluntary council of Earth Science educators and professionals. Council members play an active role in shaping the strategic direction of the association, supporting its charitable objectives and representing the interests of the membership.

This is a non-executive trustee role and carries the responsibilities of a charity trustee under UK law. Meetings are held periodically and can be attended remotely. Reasonable expenses are paid.
